Community Based Art:
Mandala Creations
Full Circle Programs’ community based art experiences involve creating large mandalas where participants work alongside with Mary How, artist, board-certified art therapist and founder of Full Circle Programs.
Mandalas, sacred circles, have been used throughout time for healing and growth. In modern times, Carl Jung brought awareness to the mandala as a symbol of the Self. These creations combine art-making with mindfulness to help participants learn and integrate these valuable skills.
The mandalas are large scale ephemeral art installations that are left to naturally fade into the landscape or released into a local river to reintegrate our ecosystem. Alternatively, the mandalas are created on city streets using brightly colored chalks.
